سوى siwā prep.

I don't know anything about the man besides his name. لن آخد من وقتك سوى دقيقة. I'll only take a minute of your time. ▪ وسواه wa-siwāhu and so on , et cetera ▪ ليس لديه خيار سوى laysa ladayhi xiyār siwā [+ masdar have no choice but to (do) ◊ ليس لدي خيار سوي الذهاب. I have no choice but to go. ▪ ليس أمامه سوى laysa ʔamāmahu siwā only have ◊ ليس أمامنا سوى عشرة دقائق. We only have ten minutes.
